If you are new to saltwater fly fishing, this is the perfect school for you! Orvis has a long history of guiding and coaching fly anglers in Belize. Northern Belize is one of our favorite destinations for flats fishing. The island of Ambergris Caye has an excellent year-round fishery with more than 400 square miles of sight-casting flats with abundant schools of bonefish, incredible schools of permit, and tarpon exceeding 150 pounds. Each school is limited to a small group of anglers and will be led by a certified Orvis fly fishing instructor. You'll receive personalized instruction and learn tips and techniques for flats fishing, including how to spot fish, proper presentation of the fly, and the secrets to hooking and landing your first bonefish. In addition to daily casting instruction, each school includes several full days of guided flats fishing with an expert, Belizean guide.

El Pescador Lodge & Villas is the perfect location for our Belize fly fishing school. The lodge is nestled on an immaculate beach with easy access to the flats. The colonial-style lodge has been extensively upgraded and features three swimming pools and a long veranda with private rooms overlooking the beach and barrier reef. Each room is air-conditioned with two double beds, so sharing a room with another angler is easy. Private rooms are also available.
